Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin Tincture Used in Two Research Studies with Amazing Results

Twice this year Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin tincture has been used in research studies.  The tests revealed interesting and amazing results.  In February, a qEEG (brainwave test) was conducted.  The test recorded a patient’s brainwaves before and after the use of Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD.  A second research project was conducted over spring term at Indian River College in Florida.  This project took HeLa cancer cells and applied different strengths of Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD to the cancer cell samples.  Both tests had positive results.  A brief explanation and summary of each test follow.

February 2019 – qEEG Test Conducted Using Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD

An EEG or Electroencephalography measures the electrical patterns at the surface of the scalp, which reflects the brainwaves.  A qEEG or Quantitative Electroencephalogram goes further, measuring and analyzing electrical activity, creating a brain map of the activity, or a topical snapshot of brain patterns.  There are many studies published in the US National Library of Medicine suggesting that these maps can help aid in evaluating several medical conditions.

How is the test done?

An electro cap, containing small electrodes is placed on the head to measure the electrical patterns while the patient sits quietly with eyes open or closed.  For this particular test data was captured before the use of the product and after taking the Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin complex.  Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta, and Gamma waves were measured both before and after the use of the product.

How do brainwaves appear on a Brain Map?  As color-coded Z-scores!

Using the Quantitative EEG or qEEG test, it is possible to measure neural patterns to see how the brain is functioning.  Results from a qEEG are presented as Z-scores.  These scores represent the difference in wave frequency using before and after snapshots.  The Z-scores are color-coded to show increased or decreased activity.  For instance, a score of 0 represents the norm and is color-coded green, red indicates excessive activity, orange, and yellow lessor activity, and blue shows decreased activity.  Below is one of the images taken from the results.

Brain Wave picture

The qEEG comparison report and video provide amazing results!

The report in the video shows a significant change in brainwave activity and lowered z-scores after using Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin tincture.  Z-scores are indicators of activity, with zero being the norm or “mean,” the higher the z-score, the more noteworthy the health condition.  A lower or zero score is optimal.  Several conditions can be measured with this test, including but not limited to migraines, ADHD, Dyslexia, anxiety and depression, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, impaired memory, and more.

The following video provides a 15-minute summary provided by the lab, explaining the process, measurements, and remarkable results.

June 2019 – HeLa Cancer Cell Report / Research using Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin

This research performed by a team of students at Indian River State College is incredibly amazing.  The student’s hypothesis: “Application of CBD/Curcumin would inhibit the growth of HeLa cell culture because of CBD’s anti-proliferative effects on cancer types, and curcumin’s tumorigenesis pathway suppression.”

They followed the HeLa cell protocol before treatment, sterilized Murphy’s CBD/Curcumin complex and stored until needed for application, and then began treating each row [pictured below] with different concentrations of the sterilized complex.

You’ll see in the picture several columns, each well contained roughly 2 ml of HeLa cell culture, mixed with bovine serum for enrichment.  They filter-sterilized the Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/curcumin complex used before treatment.  The first column was the control sample, the second column was treated with 5 ul of the CBD/Curcumin complex, the third with 10 ul of the complex, and the fourth with 20 ul of the complex.  ul stands for microliter.

For clarification, according to the John Hopkins Medicine website, HeLa cells are:

Among the important scientific discoveries of the last century was the first immortal human cell line known as “HeLa”  — a remarkably durable and prolific line of cells obtained during the treatment of Henrietta’s cancer by Johns Hopkins researcher Dr. George Gey in 1951.

Although these were the first cells that could be easily shared and multiplied in a lab setting, Johns Hopkins has never sold or profited from the discovery or distribution of HeLa cells and does not own the rights to the HeLa cell line. Rather, Johns Hopkins offered HeLa cells freely and widely for scientific research. (1)

A little more detail about these “immortal cells.”  This is the oldest and most commonly used human cell line.  The line was derived from cervical cancer cells taken on February 8, 1951, from Henrietta Lacks, a patient who died of cancer on October 4, 1951. (2)

You’ll notice in the following images that the results showed visibly less HeLa cell growth and inhibition with the 20 ul concentration.  There was not much of a difference between the 5 ul and the 10 ul dosages.  The images below provide more detail, much more clear, and appear in the order of “control,” then from lower to higher CBD/Curcumin concentrations applied.

The first image – control:

The second & third:  you can see a bit of the tincture spots:

And in the last photo: you can see the difference in cell count:

Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin inhibited cell growth in the HeLa cancer cells.  The 20 ul dilution wells had visibly less cell growth in comparison to control, 5 ul and 10 ul wells.  The students assumed that the CBD/Curcumin may have silenced the Id-2 and Id-1 gene, which slows cancer development or inhibits the epidermal growth factor.

An interesting side-note, another group of students in the same class used CBD oil, but they had a hard time because it wasn’t water-soluble, [like Murphy’s Natural Hemp].  They eventually had similar results, but according to my source, they had to use a ridiculously high concentration of the oil!  So the Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin is much more efficient and effective.

Based on both tests, continuous research using CBD for medicinal purposes should be considered.  Before using CBD with any other medications you may be taking, consult your physician.  For more information regarding this research, or to purchase Murphy’s Natural Hemp products, go to http://www.murphysnaturalhemp.com.

Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin used in a HeLa Cancer Cell Experiment

In this interview, Khalila Haque, who just completed her Bachelor’s in General Biology at Indian River State College,  shares the exciting results obtained using Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin tincture in treating HeLa cancer cells during lab research.

Me:  Good Morning Khalila, thanks so much for doing this interview with me, I know you’re buried in starting GRE studies and wrapping up school at the same time.  The research from your Cell Biology and Physiology Lab, done with HeLa cancer cells and Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin is incredibly amazing.  I know you were excited to see the results and share it with us.  Would you walk me through the steps?

Khalila:  Sure,  first let me add that I was part of a team, Myron Clemons, myself, and another student.  Our hypothesis was that the “Application of CBD/Curcumin would inhibit the growth of HeLa cell culture because of CBD’s anti-proliferative effects on cancer types, and curcumin’s tumorigenesis pathway suppression.”

We followed the HeLa cell protocol prior to treatment, sterilized Murphy’s CBD/Curcumin complex and stored until needed for application, and then began treating each row [pictured below] with different concentrations of the sterilized complex.

So, you’ll see in the picture [below] several columns, each well contained roughly 2 ml of HeLa cell culture, mixed with bovine serum for enrichment.  We filter sterilized the Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/curcumin complex before treatment.  The first column was our control, the second column was treated with 5 ul of the CBD/Curcumin complex, the third with 10 ul of the complex, and the fourth with 20 ul of the complex.  ul stands for microliter.

Me:  And for our readers, I’m going to stop for just a moment to clarify what HeLa cells are.  According to the John Hopkins Medicine website:

I found a little more detail about these “immortal cells.”  This is the oldest and most commonly used human cell line.  The line was derived from cervical cancer cells taken on February 8, 1951 from Henrietta Lacks, a patient who died of cancer on October 4, 1951. (2)

Me:  Continuing on, Khalila, tell me about this series of slides.

Khalila:  Sure, you’ll notice in the images that follow that the results showed visibly less HeLa cell growth, and inhibition with the 20 ul concentration.

Me:  So the Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin inhibited cell growth in the HeLa cancer cells?

Khalila:  Yes, that’s what we concluded.  The 20 ul dilution wells had visibly less cell growth in comparison to control, 5 ul and 10 ul wells.

For our project, we assume it may silence the Id-2 and Id-1 gene, which slows cancer development, or inhibits the epidermal growth factor.  What’s awesome about this is that another group used CBD oil, but they had a hard time because it wasn’t water-soluble, [like Murphy’s Natural Hemp].  They eventually had similar results, but they had to use a ridiculously high concentration of the oil!  So the Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin is waaaay more efficient and effective.

Based on our results, continuous research should be considered on the properties of CBD and its inhibition of cancerous cell growth.  Not only has CBD shown benefit by possibly inhibiting Id-1 and Id2 gene expression, according to other research we have done, it can also be used to relieve side effects from chemotherapy, such as nausea and vomiting.  In addition, research on Curcumin has proven its anti-inflammatory activity.  This in combination with CBD should be further tested as it may drastically reduce inflammatory factors that lead to cancer development (Shruti, 2018).

Me:  This is exciting research you’ve shared with us.  Is there anything else you’d like to add about your work?  Has this project in any way influenced your opinion of CBD and it’s health benefits?

Khalila:  Personally, this experiment backed up my initial opinion of CBD, and it’s possible anti-cancer properties.  I have read studies that have come up with similar results as well.  It would be interesting to see future research testing and its effects on specific cellular pathways.
