Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin Products – an isolate or a complex?

Simply,  it’s both!

Murphy’s Natural Hemp blends CBD and Curcumin isolates together into high quality, water-soluble complexes.

Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin: Cannabidiol or CBD is one of 113 identified cannabinoids found in cannabis sativa or the hemp plant.  The CBD is extracted from the plant and isolated from the other cannabinoids.

Now, add the Curcumin powerhouse spice.  Curcumin is one of the main ingredients of turmeric powder, which is harvested from the turmeric plant by grinding up its root.  The root contains several substances, many of which are in a group known as curcuminoids.  Curcumin is isolated from these curcuminoids and used in combination with our CBD isolate to reap the number of health benefits from both substances.

At Murphy’s Natural Hemp, our products are labeled “CBD and Curcumin isolates” to recognize the quality of the ingredients.  Our water-soluble, all-natural tinctures are clean, pure, and more bioavailable than any CBD oil product on the market.

Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Aid: Our Sleep Aid product takes these same high-quality CBD and Curcumin isolates, and combines them with Melatonin, 5-HTP, GABA, into a pure water-soluble complex.  Our sleep aid tincture will help you get to sleep easily and aid you in getting a deeper sleep, leaving you more rested and prepared for the upcoming day.  Since its water-soluble it will easily dissolve, entering your system faster and absorbing more effectively.

Oil-based CBD does not dissolve in water.  However, you’ll find the term “water-soluble” is being widely used throughout the medical cannabis industry.  What water-soluble means is that the CBD can blend into water, like sugar in your lemonade or coffee.  Water-based and oil-based products react differently when it comes to being absorbed by the body.  Your body is composed of over 60% water.  Reports show that the body uses less than 10% of the active ingredients in an oil-based product.  Compare this to our water-soluble products, which utilize 90% or more of the active ingredients.

To build continued trust, and provide transparency to our customers, we offer this very telling video demonstration that compares our water-soluble product with other market oil or water-based CBD products. Murphy’s Natural Hemp is “clearly” the better choice.

Murphy’s Natural Hemp Water-Soluble Sleep Tincture

Tech by Domenico Loia

Technological advances have allowed us to become more productive in both professional and personal lives.  However, along with all the conveniences come increasing demands and intrusions on our days, sometimes our nights.  Text messages, emails, video conferencing, smart-TV’s, smart-homes, smart-cars, smart-beds, smart-clocks, never-ending smart-tech… When it’s time to slow down to rest, our bodies and minds are still going strong.  Spending an hour or so before bed, being technology-free will help your mind slow down and in turn, help the body relax.  Other quieting activities could include listening to music, practicing meditation, reading, or doing a gentle yoga routine.

Natural remedies can also be beneficial in calming the mind and body to prepare for sleep.  Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Aid Tincture is the holistic approach you’re looking for, without the side effects that typically come with using prescription medications or the over-the-counter quick fix.  Unlike oil-based products, Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Aid product is pure and more bioavailable than any CBD oil product on the market.  As a  water-soluble formula, it is quickly and effectively absorbed by the body.

8.5x11 No FoldWhat’s the difference?

Water-soluble CBD has only recently risen to the forefront.  When we talk about a substance being water-soluble, we mean that it has the ability to be dissolved in water.  Oil and water do not mix.  When a substance is not water-soluble, the body is unable to absorb it easily.  Therefore, it may be necessary to consume large amounts of an oil-based product in order to get the results you’re looking for.  To improve solubility, and thus the therapeutic effectiveness of our tinctures, the Murphy’s Natural Hemp lab researched countless formulation strategies, including those that have already been largely tested.

It was a great challenge to find the correct solubilization tool, however, our lab has developed verifiable, water-soluble CBD and Curcumin complexes.  These products are formed with a pharmaceutical technology typically used where circumstances demand the increase of vital water-insoluble proteins for patients who are ill.  This water solubility makes it possible for our products to reach the body’s bloodstream in higher quantities while consuming less.

It makes no sense to pay the same or even more for an oil-based product when your body uses only 10% of their active ingredient, while you pass the rest as waste.  At Murphy’s Natural Hemp, our water-soluble products, allow your body to utilize a whopping 90% or more.  See the difference for yourself, watch this very telling video!

G’Night, sleep well – the natural remedy approach

GnightYou’ve come to the end of another productive day.  It’s time to slow down, to rest and relax… and you can’t.  Your head hits the pillow, your mind is still working, the anxiety about not getting enough sleep rolls in, tossing and turning, counting llamas (or the furry  creature of your choice), reciting a list of positive affirmations in your mind… despite all your best efforts it’s now dawn and you’ve experienced another night of poor sleep.

There are remedies.  Physicians often prescribe a pharmaceutical or may recommend an over-the-counter sleep product, but these medications can come with nasty side effects like, dizziness, daytime drowsiness, dry mouth or throat, burning or tingling in the hands, arms, feet, or legs, changes in appetite, constipation or diarrhea.  Some individuals have even complained of sleep walking, or worse yet, sleep shopping and not remembering it!  (Yes, I have a friend who did this. Several times.)  Murphy’s Natural Hemp has an all natural sleep remedy, specifically designed to help take you into a deeper, more restful sleep.

Our CBD sleep-aid product is the natural approach you’re looking for, without the side effects that typically come with using prescription medications or the over-the-counter quick fix.  Unlike oil-based products, Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Aid, which contains CBD & Curcumin, 5-HTP, GABA, and Melatonin, is a water-soluble formula that is quickly and effectively absorbed by the body.

What’s in our product and how does it help you fall asleep?

sleep-aid-bottle-600x600-1CBD/Curcumin:

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of over 100 cannabinoids, that are found in the cannabis sativa plant.  It does not get the user “high.”  CBD has become increasingly popular over the last several years for treating patients with insomnia, pain, anxiety, IBS, arthritis and more.  It is believed that CBD works with the body’s own network of receptors, called the Endocannabinoid System or ECS, in assisting the natural processes that are responsible for calming the central nervous system, and reducing the stress response. (1)(2)

Curcumin, one of the main ingredients of turmeric powder, which is harvested from the turmeric plant by grinding up its root,  is recommended for its multiple health benefits, which appear to act primarily through its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory mechanisms.  Ongoing research is proving the spice to be effective in patients with arthritis, fibromyalgia, IBS, and lupus.  By decreasing inflammation and pain in the body, a more restful sleep is possible.

5-HTP

5-Hydroxytryptophan, commonly known as 5-HTP is a naturally occurring amino acid that works in the brain and central nervous system to aid in the production of the chemicals serotonin and melatonin, two of the most important brain chemicals for regulating the sleep/wake cycle.  This means that supplementing 5-HTP will boost both serotonin and melatonin. (3)

GABA

Gamma aminobutyric acid, or GABA for short, is a naturally occurring amino acid that works as a chemical neurotransmitter in your brain.  GABA blocks certain signals in the brain, decreasing activity, which as a result produces a calming effect with anxiety and stress, both contributors to sleepless nights. (4)

Melatonin

Finally, Melatonin is a hormone naturally produced within the body, that plays a major role in the body’s circadian rhythm or “body clock.” It is naturally produced in greater amounts as twilight approaches in order to help us fall asleep.  Produced and secreted by the pineal gland, Melatonin levels rise and fall between twilight and sunrise, with levels going up around 9 p.m., peaking during the night and staying high until dawn, finally dropping off around 9 a.m.  During the day, Melatonin hormone levels are almost non-existent.  Instead, other stimulating hormones, like cortisol, take over to keep us actively moving through the day.  Studies suggest this supplement helps reduce the time it takes to fall asleep. (5)

Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Tincture contains the perfect combination of  the ingredients that will assist you in getting a good night’s sleep.   You can take this product under your tongue, add it to water, or to another beverage, approximately 20 minutes before bedtime.  Our sleep tincture will help you get to sleep easily and aid you in getting a deeper sleep, leaving you more rested and prepared for the upcoming day.  Since its water soluble it will easily dissolve, entering your system faster and absorbing more effectively.  This water-soluble product also helps in avoiding the heavy feeling that oil-based products cause due to the large amounts of calories and fat content.  Our sleep tincture contains ZERO calories and ZERO grams of fat.  *Zero THC

Melatonin – An effective sleep supplement

Exhausted with coffee cup - Cassidy Kelley

Are you sleeping well… or just trying to stay awake with caffeine and energy drinks?  According to The National Sleep Foundation, it should take 15 to 20 minutes to fall asleep.  Then, after falling asleep, a sleeper should typically move through four stages: one, two, three, and REM, or rapid eye movement sleep.  Each stage of this cycle should last between five to fifteen minutes, completing in approximately 90 minutes, before it starts all over again.  A key hormone in regulating this natural sleep cycle is Melatonin.

Produced and secreted by the pineal gland, Melatonin levels rise and fall following twilight and sunrise, with levels going up around 9 p.m., peaking during the night and staying high until dawn, finally dropping off around 9 a.m.  During the day, Melatonin hormone levels are almost non-existent.  Instead, other stimulating hormones, like cortisol, take over to keep us actively moving through the day.

Sleep deprivation as a result of working night-shifts, jet-lag, trouble falling asleep (delayed sleep phase syndrome), broken sleep, or insomnia affects the ability to fully function during the day.  Sleep deprivation symptoms may include:

  • Daytime drowsiness
  • Micro-sleeps while being awake (falling asleep while driving)
  • Inability to think or react clearly
  • Anxiety
  • Mood changes

In addition, research published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has shown that lack of sleep contributes to numerous health problems, “not getting enough sleep, or getting poor-quality sleep, increases the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.” (1)

Sleep prescriptions and over-the-counter products are effective, however, side effects from regular use can include daytime sleepiness, dry mouth, and dizziness.  Additionally, some medications may gradually cause memory problems.  The use of Melatonin supplements has been shown to synchronize the body clock, or circadian rhythm, improving the time it takes to fall asleep and contributing to deeper, restful sleep periods.

Melatonin offers an alternative treatment to the currently available pharmaceutical and over-the-counter products for sleep problems with significantly fewer side effects.  Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Tincture contains the perfect combination of compounds that will assist you in getting a good night’s sleep.  In addition, because of the water-soluble properties of Murphy’s Natural Hemp, lower dosages of the tincture will provide the same effects as products that are not water-based.  This video proves the vast difference between our water-based tinctures and other oil-based or water-soluble tinctures.

GABA – A natural approach to better sleep

Gamma-aminobutyric acid, or GABA for short, is a naturally occurring amino acid that works as a chemical neurotransmitter in your brain.  GABA blocks certain signals in the brain, decreasing activity, which as a result produces a calming effect.  This can help with anxiety and stress, both contributors to sleeplessness.  A study conducted in 2018 showed supplemental GABA improved sleep quality, and without the adverse effects associated with prescribed sleep medications. (1)

Chamomile and Face - BillieMedicinal plants high in GABA include chamomile flowers, feverfew, linden flowers, and passionflower.

Passion flower - contains GABA - Andrew Pons

In addition, GABA studies have been conducted in regard to how this amino acid affects the gastrointestinal system, or “gut.”  Gut flora is crucial in keeping the immune system functioning properly and communicating with the brain.  Philip Strandwitz and his colleagues at Northeastern University Boston reported in 2016:

“Bacteria have been discovered in our guts that depend on one of our brain chemicals for survival.  These bacteria consume GABA, a molecule crucial for calming the brain, and the fact that they gobble it up could help explain why the gut microbiome seems to affect mood… GABA acts by inhibiting signals from nerve cells, calming down the activity of the brain, so it’s surprising to learn that a gut bacterium needs it to grow and reproduce.  Having abnormally low levels of GABA are linked to depression and mood disorders, and this finding adds to growing evidence that our gut bacteria may affect our brains.” (2)

Wow!  Research and studies of this significant amino acid and its health benefits in treating insomnia, anxiety, and depression continue.  With GABA level’s being linked to better sleep, Murphy’s Natural Hemp has combined the perfect mix of compounds that will assist you in getting a good night’s sleep, CBD/Curcumin, Melatonin, 5-HTP, and GABA.  In addition, because of the water-soluble properties of Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Aid, lower dosages of the tincture will provide the same effects as products that are not water-based.  This video illustrates the stark contrast between our water-based tinctures and other oil-based or water-soluble CBD products on the market.  Murphy’s Natural Hemp is clearly the better choice!

Sleep Benefits of 5-HTP Supplements

Man sleeping - by Arthur Savary

Tossing and turning, sleepless nights, waking up exhausted and anxious knowing you face another work day… insomnia is incredibly frustrating, with the lack of sleep affecting every aspect of life.  5-HTP is a natural remedy that may help you sleep deeper and stay asleep longer.

A number of studies done over the last two decades found 5-HTP helps with insomnia and improves overall sleep quality. (1)  It is not found in food but is created from another amino acid, tryptophan, which can be found in high-protein animal foods like meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, and eggs.  Supplements of 5-HTP are typically produced from a woody African shrub called Griffonia simplicifolia, which seeds contain 20% of the amino acid.

Research has shown that 5-HTP can assist in shortening the time it takes to fall asleep and increase sleep amounts with fewer side effects than sleep medications.   5-HTP can be beneficial in easing symptoms of stress and anxiety, which also interfere with sleep patterns.  This supplement has also been used for depression, anxiety, headaches, fibromyalgia, obesity, PMS, ADHD, and Parkinson’s.

Currently, there is no recommended daily allowance for 5-HTP.  Most individuals take between 25 and 100 milligrams per day, starting with a lower dose of 25 mg and moving up to a higher dose as needed. This video proves the vast difference between our water-based tinctures and other popular oil-based or water-soluble CBD products on the market.

Before taking any supplement, be sure to consult with your physician.  Documentation indicates that the use of 5-HTP supplements should not be combined with antidepressants or MAO inhibitors.  You should not take with ephedrine or pseudoephedrine, common in many over-the-counter cold remedies. (1)

Say Yes! to Murphy’s Water Soluble CBD/Curcumin Products: Seeing is Believing

Oil and water don’t mix.  Murphy’s Natural Hemp is an all-natural water-soluble source of CBD plus Ayurvedic herbs that have more bioavailability to the body than other hemp oil products on the market.  But don’t just take our word for it… see for yourself!

Obviously, Murphy’s Natural Hemp is the “clear” choice.  For more information or to purchase one of our products you can find us at https://murphysnaturalhemp.com/

Cannabinoids Wheel – What to Use

Plants have been used as medicines for thousands of years.  “The oldest written evidence of medicinal plant usage for preparation of drugs was found on a Sumerian clay slab from Nagpur, approximately 5000 years old.  It comprised 12 recipes for drug preparation referring to over 250 various plants, some of them alkaloid such as poppy, henbane, and mandrake.”  There are many other references to ancient plant use throughout history, for instance the Chinese book on roots and grasses ‘Pen T’Sao,’ from 2500 BC lists dried parts of medicinal plants that were used as medicine.   The Vedas, the Ebers Papyrus, the Bible, Homer’s Illiad, and other historic texts mention botanical and herbal medicines. [1]  It is very likely that humans have used plants as medicine for as long as we have existed.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is harvested from both the cannabis and hemp plants.  It is known largely for anxiety and pain relief as well as muscle relaxing properties.  As an isolate without the THC component, CBD becomes a non-psychoactive compound, producing zero to .03 percent THC.

Both the cannabis and hemp plant cannabinoids have been vastly researched and reported as being beneficial for a number of medical needs.  Pain, sleep, gastrointestinal illnesses, mood and behavior disorders, neurological disorders and more.  The illustration below provides a guide for the major cannabinoids and how they may help with a variety of medical conditions.

CBD-THC Medical Use Wheel

Buying CBD for the First Time: Key Questions and Considerations

studying by Jeshoots

You’re a first-time buyer.  CBD is in the news, friends are using it for health and well-being, and you’ve decided to give a try.  With so many options, what do you look for?  What questions do you ask?  We’re providing you with a few key questions.  Shop and compare, then make a knowledgeable purchase.

What is the extraction process used?

There are several ways to extract CBD from the hemp plants:

  • Co2 Extraction – Safe and provides a pure end product
  • Olive Oil Extraction – Safe, however end product is perishable
  • Dry Ice Extraction – Easy to produce, however low quality
  • Solvent Extraction – Straightforward process, however strips plant wax and could generate oil that contains contaminants

Murphy’s Natural Hemp Solutions uses the CO2 extraction method to pull CBD from the hemp plant.  CO2 under high pressure, using low temperatures pulls out CBD isolating and preserving its purity.  Once the CO2 is no longer under intense pressure, it simply evaporates, leaving no traces on the extraction itself.  The CO2 extraction method ensures a high quality and a chemical, solvent free CBD product.

Where does the hemp come from?

Murphy’s Natural Hemp teamed with a laboratory that developed a process in order to bring a truly water-soluble CBD/Curcumin product to market.  The laboratory only purchases the highest-grade CBD available on the market with the majority coming from hemp grown by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Industrial Research Pilot Program.

Does it contain any THC?

We use the CO2 extraction method to pull CBD from the hemp plant.  It is viewed as the safest way to extract and guarantee a pure end product.  Murphy’s Natural Hemp products are isolates, meaning they contain no tetrahydrocannabinol or THC.

Other market products may be full spectrum CBD.  These will contain less than .3% or trace amounts of THC, which is not considered enough to provide a user with any side effects they may experience using other cannabis products.  Simply put, you will not get “high” from either the isolate or full-spectrum product.

Is lab testing of the CBD provided?

Know what you are ingesting!  Be an informed consumer.  When looking for a CBD supplier, check to be sure the product has been tested for potency, pesticides, bacteria, and other contaminants.

Murphy’s Natural Hemp must pass a thorough inspection for heavy metals, (arsenic, cadmium, mercury and lead), microbiological contaminants (bacteria, yeast and molds), and VOC’s (propane, isobutane, butane, methanol, ethanol, acetone, isopropanol, acetonitrile, hexane, and heptane).  Test results are readily available to the consumer.

What is the actual mg per dosage?

Although packaging may recommend one dropper per day, the correct dosage for will vary from person to person.  Dosage is dependent upon:

  • The concentration of the CBD product
  • The condition being treated
  • The weight of the individual
  • The individual’s body chemistry
  • Whether it is a full-spectrum CBD or a CBD isolate
  • Whether you are a first-time taking CBD
  • Whether you’re previous cannabis user
  • If you have a cannabinoid tolerance built up

Starting with a smaller dose and adjusting dosage as necessary to reach the desired effect is the best way to begin usage.  Murphy’s Natural Hemp products contain:

  • Murphy’s CBD/Curcumin CBD contains 560 mg proprietary isolate – 18.67 mg per serving (Pure water 99% + Pure CBD/Curcumin Isolates)
  • Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Aid contains CBD/Curcumin 690mg isolates – 18.67mg CBD/Curcumin per serving (Pure water 99% + Pure CBD/Curcumin Isolate)
    • 30mg Melatonin – 1mg per serving
    • 99mg 5-HTP – 3.33mg per serving
    • 99mg GABA – 3.33mg per serving

What is the actual mg per dosage absorbed by the body?

One of the main challenges is to guarantee the bioavailability of the active ingredients, especially when they are poorly soluble and/or with a limited gastrointestinal permeability such as CBD and Curcumin.  To improve aqueous solubility and thus the therapeutic effectiveness of these compounds, we researched countless formulation strategies, including those that had already been largely tested.

Murphy’s Natural Hemp products are designed with pharmaceutical technology that is typically used when circumstances demand increasing vital water insoluble proteins for patients who are dealing with illnesses.  Unlike other CBD formulas, there is no nano complex, which only disperses small nano-size clusters of CBD molecules in an otherwise insoluble mixture.  Eventually, all nano products will separate, like oil and water; and they show no improvement for increasing bioavailability.  Unlike oil-based CBD products offered by other companies, our products are made with 100% purified water.  This is what makes our products stand out among the rest.  99% of our product is absorbed by the body.  Only 10% of CBD is absorbed using the leading oil-based product.

What are other qualities to consider?

  • Organically grown
  • Product grown in the U.S.
  • Company follows the rules/laws governing production
  • Made from high-quality extract

How Murphy’s CBD / Curcumin Water-Soluble Tincture Can Help You

CBD graphic

Murphy’s CBD / Curcumin water-soluble tincture contains 99% pure water, pure CBD/Curcumin Isolates, and zero THC.

Unlike other CBD products, Murphy’s Natural Hemp is an all-natural water-soluble source of CBD plus Ayurvedic herbs that has more bioavailability to the body.  Because its water soluble, it easily dissolves and enters your system quickly, effectively and efficiently.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a chemical compound that comes from the cannabis sativa plant, an annual herbaceous flowering plant.  CBD is one of over 100 such compounds, known as cannabinoids, that are found in the plant.

CBD does not have any psychoactive effects and has a good safety profile.  It does not get the user “high.”  The cannabinoid has become increasingly popular over the last several years for treating patients with a range of health conditions.

In a study released by the World Health Organization’s Expert Committee, November 2017, it is stated that CBD may benefit people diagnosed with:

  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Huntington’s disease
  • Pain
  • Psychosis
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Cancer
  • Nausea
  • Inflammatory diseases
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Infection
  • Inflammatory bowel and Crohn’s disease
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Diabetic complications

The study also reported that “CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.”  In addition, health care professionals are also using CBD to treat other medical issues, such as autism and sleep problems.

What is Curcumin and What Are Its Benefits?

Curcumin is receiving worldwide attention due to its multiple health benefits, which appear to act primarily through its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory mechanisms.  It is one of the main ingredients of turmeric powder, which is harvested from the turmeric plant by grinding up its root.

Research of curcumin has shown promising effects in patients with various pro-inflammatory diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, ulcerative proctitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel disease, peptic ulcer, gastric ulcer, gastric inflammation, psoriasis, and lupus.

CBD and Curcumin Together

Widely researched, these potent anti-inflammatory agents together in a pure water-soluble product may provide you a powerhouse against health challenges.  With our bodies consisting of up to 60% – 70% water, an oil-free, water-based CBD and Curcumin product is optimal.  Murphy’s Natural Hemp complexes are the answer.  With our water-soluble products, which are easily and quickly absorbed, the body typically utilizes 90% or more of the ingredients.  This makes our products stand out among the rest!
