qEEG “Brain Map” results: Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD & Curcumin lowers z-scores! (what’s a z-score? read on)

How does CBD impact brainwaves?

Murphy’s Natural Hemp teamed with an FDA approved lab to measure the effects our CBD/Curcumin product has on the brain… and the results are amazing!  Watch the case study video that follows this brief explanation.  First, what is a qEEG, how is it done, and what can it show?

What is a qEEG?

You’ve most likely heard of an EEG or Electroencephalography.  The test measures the electrical patterns at the surface of the scalp, which reflects your brainwaves.  A qEEG or Quantitative Electroencephalogram goes further, measuring and analyzing electrical activity, creating a brain map of the activity, or a topical snapshot of brain patterns.  There are a number of studies published in the US National Library of Medicine suggesting that these maps can help aid in evaluating a number of medical conditions.

How is the test done?

An electro cap, containing small electrodes is placed on the head to measure the electrical patterns while the patient sits quietly with eyes open or closed.  For this particular test data was captured before the use of the product and after taking the Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin complex.  Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta, and Gamma waves were measured both before and after the use of the product. Below is one of the images taken from the results.

Brain Wave picture

What did the qEEG Comparison Report show in brainwave activity before and after our CBD/Curcumin tincture?

The report shows a significant change in brainwave activity and lowered z-scores after using Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin tincture.  Z-scores are indicators of activity, with zero being the norm or “mean,” the higher the z-score, the more noteworthy the health condition.  A lower or zero score is optimal.  There are a number of conditions that can be measured with this test, including but not limited to migraines, ADHD, Dyslexia, anxiety and depression, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, impaired memory, and more.

The following video provides a 15-minute summary provided by the lab, explaining the process, measurements, and remarkable results.

CBD & Pain Relief

Last fall of 2018, another person in my neighborhood was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that causes chronic inflammation and joint pain, Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).  I spoke with her about the drug treatment she was prescribed, as well as other natural remedies that she’s decided to use.

sitting in pain by Imani Clovis

Interview with Sue:

Me: Sue, thanks for sharing your story with me today.   Tell me about your journey and being diagnosed with RA.  What are the major symptoms of RA and what prescription drugs have you tried so far?

Sue: Well, it started with feeling tired and having stiffness in my hands and knees.  I thought I was just doing too much so I cut back on some activities, but it continued.  As time went on, the joints in my fingers started swelling, and I had quite a bit of pain.  When I couldn’t get by with over-the-counter pain relievers anymore, I decided I’d better see a doctor.  Last fall, I was diagnosed with RA, and started on Methotrexate, which seemed to be effective, but it made me feel sick all the time.  Kind of like I had the flu every day with nausea and vomiting.  After a few weeks, I had to stop taking it.  Just made me too sick to function.

Me: And you’ve gone back to see the doctor about a different medication?

Sue: Not yet, I looked into what other medications are available and they all have major side effects.  I’d heard about CBD helping with inflammation and pain and decided to give it a try before I go on to another prescription medication.

Me:  Are you using an under-the-tongue CBD oil tincture?

Sue: Actually, I bought a CBD topical cream that I can rub into my joints, and then also use an under the tongue CBD tincture.  It’s been helping.

Me: What would you like others to know about natural remedy use and effectiveness?

Sue: I’m definitely getting some pain relief.  I did find that it wears off just after mid-day, so I’m working on dosage and when to reapply or use the tincture again.  After the experience with vomiting every day with taking the prescription medication, in my opinion, I feel it’s better to use these remedies for awhile to see if I can manage the pain and inflammation naturally.  If this doesn’t work for me, then I’ll go back to my doctor.  Maybe a combination of prescription and CBD would work, I’d have to check with him.  But for now, this appears to be working, I just have to find the correct dosage.  I’ll keep you posted!

Me: Thanks for talking with me today Sue.  I appreciate your sharing and look forward to knowing more about how these natural remedies are working for you.  Also, I’m going to leave you with a brochure from a company I buy from, Murphy’s Natural Hemp.  They combine CBD with Curcumin, which is also known as a natural remedy that helps with inflammation and pain.  I’d love to get your feedback on the products.

Sue:  Thank you!  I will definitely give them a try, and I’d be happy to talk with you about the results and give you my feedback.

I’ll be following up with Sue in a month or two to see how she’s doing with the natural remedy approaches.  Stay tuned!  Sue is one of many individuals around the world who are turning to CBD for pain relief in dealing with RA and other medical conditions.

According to a 2018 study, which looked at “who, how, and why individuals are currently using CBD,” nearly 62% of the individuals responding reported using CBD to treat a medical condition, with pain, anxiety, and depression being at the top.  What I found most interesting about this study was that almost 36% of the people who responded, reported that CBD was all they needed.  They had no need for any other medication to treat their particular medical condition other than the CBD.  Only 4.3% reported that the CBD did not work well for them. In addition, this same study reported: “Respondents selected “Other” 362 times. The most common “Other” conditions reported were neuropathy (n=48), autoimmune conditions (n=38), and fibromyalgia (n=37).”(1)

Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin Products – an isolate or a complex?

Simply,  it’s both!

Murphy’s Natural Hemp blends CBD and Curcumin isolates together into high quality, water-soluble complexes.

Murphy’s Natural Hemp CBD/Curcumin: Cannabidiol or CBD is one of 113 identified cannabinoids found in cannabis sativa or the hemp plant.  The CBD is extracted from the plant and isolated from the other cannabinoids.

Now, add the Curcumin powerhouse spice.  Curcumin is one of the main ingredients of turmeric powder, which is harvested from the turmeric plant by grinding up its root.  The root contains several substances, many of which are in a group known as curcuminoids.  Curcumin is isolated from these curcuminoids and used in combination with our CBD isolate to reap the number of health benefits from both substances.

At Murphy’s Natural Hemp, our products are labeled “CBD and Curcumin isolates” to recognize the quality of the ingredients.  Our water-soluble, all-natural tinctures are clean, pure, and more bioavailable than any CBD oil product on the market.

Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Aid: Our Sleep Aid product takes these same high-quality CBD and Curcumin isolates, and combines them with Melatonin, 5-HTP, GABA, into a pure water-soluble complex.  Our sleep aid tincture will help you get to sleep easily and aid you in getting a deeper sleep, leaving you more rested and prepared for the upcoming day.  Since its water-soluble it will easily dissolve, entering your system faster and absorbing more effectively.

Oil-based CBD does not dissolve in water.  However, you’ll find the term “water-soluble” is being widely used throughout the medical cannabis industry.  What water-soluble means is that the CBD can blend into water, like sugar in your lemonade or coffee.  Water-based and oil-based products react differently when it comes to being absorbed by the body.  Your body is composed of over 60% water.  Reports show that the body uses less than 10% of the active ingredients in an oil-based product.  Compare this to our water-soluble products, which utilize 90% or more of the active ingredients.

To build continued trust, and provide transparency to our customers, we offer this very telling video demonstration that compares our water-soluble product with other market oil or water-based CBD products. Murphy’s Natural Hemp is “clearly” the better choice.

The Cannabinoid Wheel

What are Cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are the naturally occurring chemical compounds found in the cannabis and hemp plants.  Both plants have been vastly researched and reported as being beneficial for several medical needs, pain, sleep, gastrointestinal illnesses, mood and behavior disorders, neurological disorders and more.  The illustration and key descriptions below provide a guide to the major cannabinoids and how they may prove helpful with a variety of medical conditions.

CBD-THC Medical Use Wheel

The Cannabinoid Wheel Key:

  • Cannabichromene (CBC)
  • Cannabidiol (CBD)
  • Cannabigerol (CBG)
  • Cannabinol (CBN)
  • Cannabidiolic Acid (CBDA)
  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
  • Tetrahydrocannabinolic (THCA)
  • Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV)

CBC

Just like THC and CBD, Cannabichromene or CBC comes from the stem of the cannabis plants cannabigerol acid (CBGA).  It is produced through heat or ultraviolet light.  Getting techie here, so we’ll move on to the benefits.  CBC does not get the user high and has shown potential in treating pain, inflammation, and acne.  Studies are being conducted on its benefits in treating cancer and depression.

CBD

Cannabidiol or CBD is harvested from both the cannabis and hemp plants.  It is known largely for anxiety and pain relief as well as muscle-relaxing properties.  As an isolate without the THC component, CBD becomes a non-psychoactive compound, producing zero to .03 percent THC.  In addition, studies have shown this cannabinoid can be beneficial for a number of health conditions, in particular, inflammation reduction, treatment for pain, combating arthritis, reducing anxiety, treating sleep disorders and more.  Research and clinical studies continue, so it looks as though there will be more information regarding practical and medicinal uses with this natural remedy in the future.

CBG

Cannabigerol or CBG is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid much like CBD.   It is produced when the heat is applied to cannabigerol acid.  I know, getting super-technical again.  The short story is that this is proving effective as a pain reliever, anti-convulsive, as a sleep aid, an anti-inflammatory and increases appetite.  There is a wide variety of research, as well as several articles available to find out more about how this cannabinoid works with each health challenge, on the Internet and in the National Library of Medicine.

CBN

Cannabinol or CBN is a result of THC being exposed to oxygen over a period of time.  Simply, cannabis left out in the open is more likely to have higher levels of CBN.  Studies show CBN’s properties benefit those dealing with pain, insomnia, inflammation, and lack of appetite.  Additional research is being conducted with this cannabinoid as an anti-consultant and anti-bacterial component.

CBDA

Cannabinoids actually begin as cannabinoid acids (CBDA) that are activated when they’re heated.  Although research is minimal, early lab studies show Cannabidiolic acid or CBDA is a potent compound that may help with inflammation, nausea and vomiting, and as an anti-cancer agent.  Ongoing studies are being conducted.

THC

THC, the main psychoactive component of the cannabis plant, is the primary cannabinoid responsible for creating the high associated with recreational cannabis use.  A variety of studies have shown that THC may help deal with a number of medical challenges such as the side effects of chemo, lessening tremors due to spinal injuries, nausea, and vomiting, digestive health, chronic pain, and inflammation.

THCA

Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid or THCA is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid.  It is the acidic form of THC.  Individuals have shared how they’ve experienced relief in symptoms due to inflammation, arthritis, lupus, muscle spasms, and pain.  In addition, an international study reports that THCA may be helpful for patients living with MS, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and Alzheimer’s disease. (1)   Ongoing studies are being conducted.

THCV

Tetrahydrocannabivarin or THCV has psychoactive effects like THC.  It may be useful in treating anxiety and panic attacks, as an appetite suppressant, and may help with diabetes.  From what I could gather in the available research and articles, there are low amounts of this compound in the general cannabis plant.  So before purchasing, read up on which plants will produce a generous amount of THCV to get the desired effect.

Murphy’s Natural Hemp Combines CBD With Curcumin

Murphy’s Natural Hemp takes the highest quality CBD cannabinoid and combines it with the holistic spice remedy Curcumin.  Curcumin, one of the main ingredients of turmeric powder, is harvested from the turmeric plant by grinding up its root.  In addition to being a spice used in cooking, Curcumin is also proving effective as an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever, as well as showing promising effects in patients with ulcers, arthritis, irritable bowel, psoriasis, lupus, and more.  Further studies are being conducted on the benefits of curcumin for reducing the progression of Alzheimer’s and improving the heart and circulatory system.

Murphy’s Natural Hemp water-soluble CBD products are sourced in the U.S., produced with the highest quality ingredients, and are continually tested to be sure they meet our standards.

Water-Based CBD

CBD tincture-bottle-600x600-1Oil-based CBD does not dissolve in water.  Oily substances are repelled by water, which forces the separation of the ingredients. For more information or to purchase Murphy’s Natural Hemp, go to https://murphysnaturalhemp.com/.

The Benefits of Murphy’s Natural Hemp Combined CBD/Curcumin Tinctures

Cannibus 2 by Jose Luis Sanchez Pereyra

With the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, Hemp has exploded in growth, production, and consumer use.  The farm bill did several things.  It provided subsidies for American farmers, reinforced locally grown foods, expanded trade opportunities, kept SNAP in place, and legalized the production of the hemp plant.  CBD or Hemp extract is a natural chemical compound that comes from the hemp or cannabis sativa plant.  It is one of over 100 such compounds, known as cannabinoids, that are found in the plant.

CBD Benefits

Studies have shown this cannabinoid to be beneficial for many health conditions, in particular reducing inflammation, treatment for pain, combating arthritis, reducing anxiety, treating sleep disorders and more.  Further, CBD does not have any psychoactive effects, so it does not get the user high.  What this means is that you can use the compound, and reap the health benefits with little or no impact on your day-to-day functioning.

Now, take the health benefits associated with CBD and combine them with the power of Curcumin.  How is Curcumin beneficial?  Read on.

Curcumin Benefits

Curcumin, in both Ayurveda (the traditional medicine of India) and Chinese medicine, has become a major player in holistic medicine.  One of the main ingredients of turmeric powder, it is harvested from the turmeric plant by grinding up its root.  In addition to being a spice used in cooking, Curcumin is also proving effective as an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever.

According to the US National Library of Medicine, research of curcumin over the past half-century has shown promising effects in patients with various pro-inflammatory diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, ulcerative proctitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel disease, peptic ulcer, gastric ulcer, gastric inflammation, psoriasis, and lupus to name just a few.  Further studies are being conducted on the benefits of curcumin for reducing the speed of Alzheimer’s disease, improving heart and circulatory system function, and more.

Water-Soluble CBD & Curcumin Combined

CBD tincture-bottle-600x600-1Murphy’s Natural Hemp combines CBD and Curcumin in a water-soluble form, providing you with the numerous health benefits of both compounds.  Oil-based CBD does not dissolve in water.  Oily substances are repelled by water, which forces a separation of the ingredients.

In short, Murphy’s Natural Hemp water-soluble, high-quality CBD/Curcumin combined products have:

  • Increased bіоаvаіlаbіlіtу:  The increased bioavailability mеаnѕ lеѕѕ оf the product іѕ wasted when taken, and that more of the product is put to use in the body’s system.
  • Increased effectiveness:  Water-soluble CBD products are more rapidly absorbed into the body’s system because water constitutes 60 – 70%  of the body.  Water-soluble products take less time to become active in the body compared to their oil-based counterparts.
  • The ability to be mixed with beverages:  Thanks to the lab technologies utilized by Murphy’s Natural Hemp, the products can now bе mіxеd with wаtеr or any water-based drink.

High-Quality / Laboratory Tested

Murphy’s Natural Hemp water-soluble CBD products are sourced in the U.S., produced with the highest quality ingredients, and are continually tested to be sure they meet our high standards.

To summarize:  With our tinctures, you receive the health benefits of both CBD and Curcumin in a water-soluble form, providing you with increased absorption and quick relief.  Murphy’s Natural Hemp is the “clear” choice.  But don’t just take our word for it… see for yourself!

Murphy’s Natural Hemp Water-Soluble Sleep Tincture

Tech by Domenico Loia

Technological advances have allowed us to become more productive in both professional and personal lives.  However, along with all the conveniences come increasing demands and intrusions on our days, sometimes our nights.  Text messages, emails, video conferencing, smart-TV’s, smart-homes, smart-cars, smart-beds, smart-clocks, never-ending smart-tech… When it’s time to slow down to rest, our bodies and minds are still going strong.  Spending an hour or so before bed, being technology-free will help your mind slow down and in turn, help the body relax.  Other quieting activities could include listening to music, practicing meditation, reading, or doing a gentle yoga routine.

Natural remedies can also be beneficial in calming the mind and body to prepare for sleep.  Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Aid Tincture is the holistic approach you’re looking for, without the side effects that typically come with using prescription medications or the over-the-counter quick fix.  Unlike oil-based products, Murphy’s Natural Hemp Sleep Aid product is pure and more bioavailable than any CBD oil product on the market.  As a  water-soluble formula, it is quickly and effectively absorbed by the body.

8.5x11 No FoldWhat’s the difference?

Water-soluble CBD has only recently risen to the forefront.  When we talk about a substance being water-soluble, we mean that it has the ability to be dissolved in water.  Oil and water do not mix.  When a substance is not water-soluble, the body is unable to absorb it easily.  Therefore, it may be necessary to consume large amounts of an oil-based product in order to get the results you’re looking for.  To improve solubility, and thus the therapeutic effectiveness of our tinctures, the Murphy’s Natural Hemp lab researched countless formulation strategies, including those that have already been largely tested.

It was a great challenge to find the correct solubilization tool, however, our lab has developed verifiable, water-soluble CBD and Curcumin complexes.  These products are formed with a pharmaceutical technology typically used where circumstances demand the increase of vital water-insoluble proteins for patients who are ill.  This water solubility makes it possible for our products to reach the body’s bloodstream in higher quantities while consuming less.

It makes no sense to pay the same or even more for an oil-based product when your body uses only 10% of their active ingredient, while you pass the rest as waste.  At Murphy’s Natural Hemp, our water-soluble products, allow your body to utilize a whopping 90% or more.  See the difference for yourself, watch this very telling video!
